Amelia Davis Jackson (soprano) is a native of Wilmington, NC. She has performed in a variety of styles and venues which range from opera and musical theatre to performing on cruise ships. Amelia has received many national awards and performed with many prestigious organizations throughout the country, including The Baltimore Symphony, The Boston Pops, and Quisisana Resort, to name a few. She also had the opportunity to work with renowned coaches, including John Moriarty, Marilyn Horne, and Evelyn Lear. Amelia received her Bachelor of Music degree from Furman University and her Master of Music degree from the Maryland Opera Studio. In 2010, she began working with Shreveport Opera on a year-long contract as a resident artist. The following year she moved to Cleveland, Ohio, where she taught lessons and served as music director for the Garfield Heights Youth Theatre and served as music director and choreographer for Brady Middle School. Amelia has recently moved to Charleston with her husband and offers lessons in voice, piano, dance, and acting.
