Kiawah Art and House Tour to benefit Engaging Creative Minds

Kiawah Art and House Tour

April 8, 2016

1:00 – 5:00 pm

We are pleased to announce that Engaging Creative Minds (ECM) has been selected as a recipient of the proceeds of the 16th annual Kiawah Art and House Tour, sponsored by Arts, etc.   Engaging Creative Minds currently serves over 5,000 students in grades 3-8 in nineteen Charleston County Schools.  Through its arts-integration programs, ECM is able to train and employ over 50 artists to go into the schools to teach their art and the curriculum standards alongside the teachers. In the summer of 2014 ECM launched its first Summer STEAM Institute, a hands-on innovative camp that served over 300 students, 30 of whom received FREE scholarships for the full 6-week camp.  2016 marks the 3rd year of Summer STEAM Institute and its continued success stories.

The proceeds of Arts, etc.’s 2016 tour will go to Chamber Music Charleston’s Classical Kids Concerts and Engaging Creative Minds (ECM). In addition to providing its STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) program, ECM will provide “Eye Opener,” a collaborative program with the Gibbes Museum of Art and will partner with the College of Charleston’s Children’s Opera Program to bring arts experiences to the children of our local community.  These four organizations are dedicated to providing creative and innovative programs that not only enhance and expand students’ understanding of their world, but also improve academic performance.

Showcasing five beautiful homes on Kiawah Island, the Art and House Tour is a highlight of the spring season. We hope you will support Arts, etc., its commitment to Engaging Creative Minds and the other organizations Arts, etc. will support, and the impact it will have on the young people of Charleston.
